Watercolor Drips & Streaks

Tulips
I found a wonderful watercolor painting of tulips, so I used it as a reference for this painting. I'm not yet able to achieve the style of painting I would like from painting real life subjects, so I thought I would try to reverse engineer this painting.

Thistles
In the spirit of loosening up, I decided to try a variety of thistles. Plus this was a great excuse to use my new pink Daniel Smith watercolor paints. I love the architectural feeling of thistles, though they're still on the wild side.

Daniel Smith Watercolor Demo
I recently attended a free Daniel Smith watercolor demo at University Art. I had never used their paints before, nor had I used any artist grade paints for that matter. They were amazing! They were have a big sale, so I bought a few. Can't wait to try them out!

Carrots
I love how these colorful carrots turned out. Just the right amount of loose sketch, but you can still tell what it is.

Forest
This was a commissioned piece. My husband requested I paint him a forest. I wish he would pick something easier. I definitely cannot paint from memory.
